A discussion meeting was held on the occasion of the handover ceremony of ambulances for Sylhet Red Crescent Matrimangal Hospital and Child Welfare Center and buses for Sylhet Red Crescent Nursing College received from the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society National Headquarters.
The event was organized by Sylhet Red Crescent Matrimangal Hospital and Sylhet Red Crescent Nursing College at the Sylhet Red Crescent Matrimangal Hospital auditorium on Saturday.
Md. Aminul Islam, Treasurer of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, addressed the event as the chief guest, chaired by Dr. Md. Nurul Alam Khan, Acting Director of Sylhet Red Crescent Matrimangal Hospital, and conducted by Jubo Prabin Chowdhury Labib Yasir of Jubo Red Crescent.
In his speech, he said that the Red Crescent will play another role in providing non-discriminatory meetings. Highlighting the role of the Red Crescent and the importance of humanitarian activities, he also said that the Red Crescent is an international humanitarian organization that works to help people affected by various natural disasters, wars, or emergencies.
Its main goal is to reach emergency assistance to all people without discrimination, where there is no discrimination on the basis of race, religion, language or any other identity.
The Red Crescent conducts various types of humanitarian activities, such as medical care, food assistance, shelter, and disaster management, all of which they base entirely on the ideals of humanity. Such initiatives reflect their deep sense of responsibility towards society and human values.
Sylhet Press Club General Secretary Sirajul Islam and Nursing College Principal Renowara Akhter addressed the event as special guests.
Sylhet Red Crescent Unit Level Officer and Assistant Director Md. Mizanur Rahman delivered the welcome address.
Senior Consultant Dr. Umme Khair Khadijatul Humaura, officials and employees of the hospital, blood center, nursing college, PPP project and Resilience project, and youth members of the Sylhet Red Crescent Unit were present at the event.
Before the discussion meeting, Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Treasurer Mohammad Aminul Islam formally inaugurated the ambulance for Sylhet Red Crescent Matrimangal Hospital and Child Welfare Center and the bus for Sylhet Red Crescent Nursing College by handing over the keys and cutting the ribbon.
