City Desk:
Faiz Ahmed Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, said reasonable suggestions will be considered to enrich the telecom policy.
“The purpose of this policy is generational transformation and we are working to implement this transformation,” he said while addressing roundtable discussion on ‘Telecommunication Network and Licensing Infrastructure’ at a city hotel, reports BSS.
Taiyeb said the number of licenses in the policy will depend on the license obligation and KPI performance. However, BTRC can find out through private research organizations how many licenses are required or how many licenses are optimal, he added.
He said the new investors cannot be stopped in the name of this license number.
He urged the domestic representatives of foreign companies to work to protect the country’s greatest interests.
Faiz Ahmed Taiyeb said mobile operators have to improve the quality of service. Otherwise, they will lose customers, he added.
He said, “We want to shift the network from connectivity to service, while also working to free up lower band frequencies and reform the existing ecosystem. Reasonable suggestions will be considered to enrich the policy.”
He said the good initiative of the government should be welcomed. The special assistant said no policy has been made in such a democratic way before. “I have personally talked to everyone about the policy. Those who will come with the new license will work more powerfully. The license will not be limited,” he added.
