Mexican Walking Fish
The axolotl, Australians and New Zealanders frequently called this as the Mexican Walking Fish but axolotl is not a fish but an amphibian, Axolotl is one of the most unusual creatures on earth which spends its entire life in its larval form. Axolotl has great importance in scientific research because of its special characteristics, one being its amazing healing and regeneration abilities.
Unfortunately due to climate change and water pollution the natural habituate for axolotl is diminishing and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) has declared axolotl a critically endangered species. Mexican authorities have been requested to take appropriate step to save and restoring the wetlands around Lake Xochimilco- the remaining home of axolotl.
