The reactor assembly process has been completed at power unit-1 of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP). The process included installing reactor internals, loading fuel assembly simulators, installing a protective pipes unit and an upper unit, Smart Automated and Monitoring Systems (SAMS) sensors, etc.
Hydraulic testing is to be conducted at the next stage, to check the operability of the reactor plant equipment. On Wednesday, Rooppur NPP Project Director and Rosatom Media Reactor Assembly completed work told Project Director Dr Zahidul Hasan stated that it was a challenging task, the reactor assembly work included installation of various components inside the reactor, fuel assembly simulator loading, protective pipe unit and upper unit and installation of Smart Automated and Monitoring Systems (SAMS) sensors.
