`Rayerbazar Reimagined From Waste to Wellness’ campaign concludes with roadshow

The SHIFT campaign, titled “Rayerbazar Reimagined: From Waste to Wellness,” concluded with a roadshow on December 19, 2024. This dynamic event culminated with two months of youth change-makers, known as SHIFTers, leading awareness-raising activities. Local representatives and stakeholders supported them. The roadshow, colorful and energetic in its execution, covered the entire Rayerbazar area, drawing widespread attention and enthusiasm from the community.
The roadshow launched under Save the Children’s ‘Shishuder Jonno’ program, the SHIFT campaign, “Rayerbazar Reimagined: From Waste to Wellness,” aimed to empower youth aged 14 to 24 to address local challenges. By focusing on waste management and environmental health, the campaign sought to reduce plastic pollution, encourage proper disposal practices, and promote recycling and reuse within the community.
The campaign van roamed through the streets of Rayerbazar, showcasing waste management and sustainability messages. Accompanied by spirited participation from SHIFTers, local leaders, and community members, the event underscored the power of collective action to inspire change. Bright banners, energetic chants, and visual displays transformed the streets into a celebration of progress and hope.
Over the last two months, the “Rayerbazar Reimagined: From Waste to Wellness” campaign has engaged the community through impact activities. SHIFTers led household meetings, school awareness sessions, Theatre for Development (TFD) performances, and creative wall art initiatives, all aimed at promoting proper waste segregation, reducing plastic use, and encouraging recycling practices.
These activities helped create a deeper understanding of environmental sustainability within the community.
Before the grand roadshow, a recycling workshop was organized to equip SHIFTers with practical knowledge on waste transformation. Participants explored creative solutions to repurpose waste materials, further emphasizing the campaign’s message of reducing, reusing, and recycling.
Speaking about the campaign, a SHIFTer shared, “This campaign has shown us that small actions can lead to big changes. Through our efforts, we hope to inspire the community to think differently about waste and take responsibility for our environment.”
Local representatives also appreciated the youth-led initiative, highlighting its potential to bring lasting, positive change to the Rayerbazar area.
The concluding roadshow was a celebration and a call to action for the entire community to continue adopting sustainable practices and ensure a cleaner, greener Rayerbazar for future generations.
