Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Senior Joint SecretaryGeneral of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has demanded that former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina maintained her power with the help of India’s intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).
He made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at an event in front of the BNP central office in Nayapaltan on Tuesday.
Rizvi said that her government’s response to calls for democracy has been brutal, with dissidents facing violent suppression, including broken limbs, enforced disappearances, and even death. No one has been spared under her rule, from MPs to ward councilors. All these have been done by the law and order forces.
Rizvi said,”Sheikh Hasina has committed so much corruption and plundered so extensively that she silenced any criticism. She may have known that she might have to run away anytime, so she looted money abroad through her close relatives.”
Addressing the interim government, he questioned, “What are you afraid of? Why haven’t you arrested Hasina’s associates or removed them from power? Why hasn’t the Union Parishad chairmanship been abolished? These individuals are murderers and responsible for the martyrdom of our students.”
Special Assistant and Coordinator of BNP Chairperson, Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas presided over the event and BNP Executive Committee member Sheikh RabiulAlam Ravi, “Amra BNP Paribar” Convener Atiqur Rahman Rumon, among others, were also present.
