The golden age of Bengali cinema is over. Both the number of halls and cinemas has decreased. There are many actors in the film industry who have no work to do.
In front of the Artistes’ Association office in Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) it is seen that many artistes were spending their time idly. This time film actress Ratna Kabir has taken the initiative to work with unemployed artistes.
Meanwhile, Ratna has also shot two dramas titled ‘Protibadi Nari’ and ‘Jograte Poribar’ on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Directed by Babul Reza, the cast of the two dramas includes Ratna Kabir, Dulari, Rina Khan, Badol Mia, Gulzar Hossain and many others.
The dramas will be released on Ratna Kabir’s YouTube channel.
While talking about these two dramas, Ratna Kabir told this correspondent, “There are many artistes in the Artists’ Association who are not called upon anymore. The hope for drama production comes from the desire to work with those artistes. I’m trying to promote those who have talent but are not getting job opportunities. I may not be able to work with everyone at the same time; those who haven’t received a call for work will also receive it. We are currently casting well-known and busy artists. If we don’t keep them, the channel won’t attract attention. I have a desire to work with everyone in turn. If there is profit from the dramas, I will share it among the artistes. I will not deprive anyone.” Ratna doesn’t want to stop at just producing dramas.
She said she has plans to produce films from her production company in the future.
While talking in this regard, Ratna told this correspondent, “I’m a film related person, so it’s not possible for me to stay away from movies. Even when I make dramas, it’s done on a big stage. My dramas have so many artistes; it’s not usually made with so many artistes. If I get a good response, then I will definitely make a movie.”
