Our days are passing like a nightmare. It seems like peaceful sleep has become forbidden for parents who have given birth to a daughter. Where can a girl feel safe in Bangladesh? Does there any safe zone exit for them? For so long, rape has been blamed on women’s indecent clothing and tempestuous attitude. The persons who hold lame mentality have always illustrated that only women are liable for this crime which is committed against them. Now the question is “What is the fault of those little girls who are being raped nowadays as they are not even old enough to wear a veil?” Now we want answer from those who blame only women for rape, not men’s dirty desires. We want to weigh their baseless statements. Do they have enough courage to face the public? An exemplary punishment of the rapist is needed now. Hundreds of rapists are still at large. They don’t have a single ounce of guilt. The image of our society is like this just because of the lacking of law enforcement. It is high time to raise our voice. We will not accept another sister’s defamation. We must break the silence and stand against sexual violence. It is no longer a nine day’s wonder. Speak up. Stand against rape. Criminals deserve Capital punishment. Either the government takes quick action on this emergent issue or we will turn “March 2025” into “July 2024”. We all should stand beside the victims so that they don’t have to undergo any more complications. It is our duty to make their life easy and peaceful as before. We have to build a pillar of trust and reliance for the parents who have already started to believe “giving birth to a daughter was their irony of fate”. If we somehow fail in our mission, we and our future generation will face an acid test. So, we all should come forward and firmly stand against rape. Now, we are armed to the teeth to protect our women.
