BNP Central Vice Chairman Gias Quader Chowdhury’s BNP leaders and workers gave 72-hour ultimatum to cancel the committee, otherwise they warned of a larger programme.
BNP leaders and workers supported by BNP Central Vice Chairman Gias Uddin Quader Chowdhury have rejected the newly announced Raozan Upazila and Municipality BNP Committees, calling them ‘pocket’ committee. They have also warned that a larger program will be launched against them if the announced committee is not canceled within 72 hours.
In protest against the announcement of pocket committees ignoring grassroots and defected BNP leaders in Raozan Upazila and Municipality, BNP leaders and workers supported by BNP Central Vice Chairman Gias Uddin Quader Chowdhury made these allegations at a press conference organized by BNP Central Vice Chairman Gias Uddin Quader Chowdhury and demanded the immediate cancellation of the new BNP committee and another participatory conference.
On Saturday, Raozan Municipality BNP General Secretary Syed Manjurul Alam read out a written statement at a press conference organized at a community center in Raozan Sadar. At this time, Chittagong North District BNP member Abu Jafar Chowdhury answered various questions from journalists. Former Upazila BNP joint convener Firoz Ahmed, Raozan Upazila joint convener Habib Ullah Master were present.
