A press conference was held at the Highway Police Rangpur Region Office to secure highways and restore order on Wednesday.
Rangpur Region Police Super Mohammad Tariqul Islam organised a press conference. He said that the main task of the Highway Police will be to secure the highways and restore order by correcting all the mistakes made by the police in the past and upholding human rights. For this, the Highway Police Superintendent has sought the full cooperation of journalists.
At the press conference, Mohammad Tariqul Islam said, we need awareness about dangerous vehicles on the highway. However, motorcycles are on the list of dangerous vehicles. Among these motorcycle drivers, there are more under-age people. Our boys are dying in most of the accidents in the country. When Eid, Puja and other festivals are celebrated, the rate of these accidents increases as well as the death rate.
These are things that can reduce the accident rate through awareness. But it is not possible for the police alone. For this, the cooperation of the people is needed. And the police is the civilian police. The police is not like the army. That is why we work together with the civilians.
