Rally and Discussion Meeting Held in N’ganj on International Literacy Day

With the theme “Promoting Literacy in the Age of Technology”, a rally
and discussion meeting were held in Narayanganj to mark International
Literacy Day 2025. On Monday (September 8), the rally took place in
front of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, followed by a discussion
meeting in the conference hall. The event was jointly organized by the
Narayanganj District Administration and the District Non-Formal
Education Bureau.
During the rally, participants chanted slogans such as “Education with
technology opens the door to progress,” “A literate nation builds a
prosperous country,” “Spread the light of literacy, build bridges of
unity,” and “A school of technology, open for all.”
The Deputy Commissioner of Narayanganj, Mohammad Zahidul Islam
Miah, attended the program as the chief guest. At the meeting, it was
announced that starting from September 14, technical and vocational
education programs will be introduced for students who drop out before
completing the eighth grade.
Also present at the event were Additional Deputy Commissioner
(General) Md. Alamgir Hossain, Nejarat Deputy Collector Tarikul
Islam, Executive Magistrate Suraiya Ashrafi, District Education Officer
Atikur Rahman, Vice Principal of Tolaram University College Tarek
Hasan Mahmud, Deputy Director of the District Non-Formal Education
Bureau Saidur Rahman, Field Monitoring Officer Mahmuda Akhter,
along with teachers from different educational institutions and non-
formal education students.
