Mobile court of Rajdhani Unnayan Katripakkha (Rajuk) has conducted operations against illegal commercial establishments in Dhaka’s Gulshan and Banani residential areas, sealing several residential hotels, restaurants, salons, and spas.

During the recent drives, the mobile court detained 14 individuals-including nine women-and handed them over to the police, a Rajuk official confirmed.

The mobile court sealed several apartments illegally used as restaurants.
The operation was led by Executive Magistrate Md Liton Sarkar, accompanied by the authorised officer of Gulshan zone-4/2, assistant authorised officer, chief building inspector, building inspectors, and representatives of the Gulshan Society. They carried out the drive on Thursday targeting unauthorised commercial use of residential properties within the designated zone.

According to Rajuk officials, seven establishments, including residential hotels, restaurants, salons, and spas, were sealed, and 14 people were detained in the course of the operation.

Nice Salon at Plot 7/A, Road 41, Gulshan, was sealed for running an illegal salon and spa. One woman and three men were detained from the establishment and later handed over to police.

Wooden Nice Furniture, also located at Plot 7/A, Road 41, was shut down for operating unlawful commercial activities, while Hotel Amari at Plot 47, Road 41, was sealed for similar violations.

Rajuk’s Development Control Director, Engineer Mohammad Monirul Haque, stated that drives against illegal activities in residential buildings are part of Rajuk’s continuous enforcement efforts.

Ratanpur Castle at Plot 91/B, Road 24, Gulshan, was also sealed for running an unauthorised spa and salon on the fourth floor of a six-storey building.
