The Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) conducted an eviction drive in the Dakshinkhan area of the capital, as houses were built without following building code-design.
During the raid, some houses were demolished and fined taka 2 lakh. The operation was conducted by Executive Magistrate Shamsul Haque. The operation was conducted from morning to noon on Monday (May 8) in Daksinkhan area.
After the operation, Magistrate Shamsul Haque said that the mobile court was conducted due to the construction of non-Rajuk design houses in Dakshinkhan area under the jurisdiction of Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) Zone 2/1.
We are imposing various penalties for constructing these deviant buildings and at the same time warning them not to construct buildings in violation of the approved design later on.
He also said that we have said earlier that this mobile court is an ongoing process which will continue in stages. Rajuk Zone 2/1 Authorized Officer Palash Sikder, Assistant Authorized Officer Tanmoy Debnath, Building Inspector Masudur Rahman and other Rajuk officials were in overall supervision of the mobile court.
