RAJUK authorities are regularly conducting drives on 3382 listed buildings without the approval of the Capital Development Authority (RAJUK) under DAP. In continuation of this, on Wednesday afternoon, a drive was conducted on the six-storey and three-storey under-construction houses of Md. Nurul Islam and Delwar Hossain in the southern Krishnapur area of Birulia Union in Savar.
During this, the electricity meter was seized and some parts of the front of the building were demolished. Later, the drive was concluded with a warning to proceed with further construction activities with approval from RAJUK and a commitment on a stamp of 300 taka.
The operation was led by RAJUK Executive Magistrate Tahmina, along with RAJUK Zone 3 by 3 Authorized Officer Rangan Mondal and officials of the Rural Electricity Office. Additional forces from Dhaka Police Lines and a team from Savar Police Station were deployed to control the law and order situation.
