Rajkummar Rao is not sparing any effort for Sourav Ganguly’s biopic. Sushant Singh Rajput trained for about a year and a half to become the on-screen Dhoni, spending time with MS Dhoni. Ranveer Singh stayed at his house for ten days to portray the character of Kapil Dev on screen.
Rajkumar Rao is going to follow the same formula. Rajkumar will stay with Sourav Ganguly for a month so that he can get to know and understand him closely.
The shooting of the biopic was supposed to start last July. But Rajkumar needs more preparation to play the role of Sourav. Especially, he needs more practice to master left-handed batting. So, the shooting has been postponed to next year.
It is learnt that Rajkumar Rao will go to Kolkata in October after the puja. He will stay with Sourav Ganguly for a month. It is very important to give this time to know the ins and outs of Sourav’s personality.
Rajkumar will closely observe Sourav’s daily activities to portray him on screen. He will take Sourav to visit the places related to his career.
Sourav’s biopic is being directed by Vikramaditya Motwane. He has already reached Kolkata with his team.
He has also visited Eden Gardens, Maidan and Dukhiram Coaching Centre, where Sourav started his cricket career. On Wednesday, during a break from Reiki, director Vikramaditya went to Sourav’s house with his team and met him.
