Rajib and Konal are two popular musicians of the current generation
in the music arena of Bangladesh. Both started their journey professionally in the music arena with two different reality shows.
Rajib’s journey began with ‘Close Up 1 – Tomakey Khujchhe Bangladesh’ and Konal’s journey started with ‘Channel i Shera Kontho’.
The journey of 2025 started yesterday. However, on the last day of the year i.e. 31 December 2024, Rajib and Konal performed music at a show in Narayanganj near Dhaka.
And they welcomed the new English New Year with this show. Yesterday was the first day of English New Year. That is, on January 1, both Rajib and Konal performed music at the Chattogram Boat Club.
It is noted that in 2011, Rajib and Konal performed their first stage show together at a picnic in Gazipur.
Then they both performed music together in several more stage shows.
But for the first time, they said goodbye to the year with songs, and welcomed the New Year with songs.
Rajib told this correspondent, “The last day of the year and the first day of the year were spent in a busy manner. It feels so good. I liked it more because Konal was in both shows because Konal has impressed the music lovers of this country with her voice. Her performance in the stage show enthralls the audience. Both of us tried to impress the guests coming to Narayanganj Club with songs and similarly Chattogram Boat Club and so on. I give thanks to the organisers who invited us and created an opportunity to impress everyone with songs.”
Konal shared her feelings by this way, “Alhamdulillah, as the end of the year was good, the journey of English New Year started very well with the stage show of Chattogram at the beginning of the year. This is how I want to spend the whole year busy with music. And after the show in Chattogram, I will go out of the country for a family work. From there, I will return home on January 10, Inshallah. After that, I will focus on professional work again, Inshallah.” “Happy English New Year everyone. All will be well, enjoy life with family,” she added.
Rajib informed that along with Konal he has two original patriotic songs – ‘Bondhu’ and ‘Hey Bijoyee’.
S M Mahbubul Alam Khalid composed the lyrics and melody of the two songs. He is a director of Walton.
