Listening to Lata Mangeshkar, the famous musician of the subcontinent, considered her music as a role model in life of Raisa Jannat Khan and she was involved in music from childhood. She started practicing music while staying at her village home in Noakhali. Later when Raisa came to Dhaka, she learned music from Basu Chatterjee for some time. Basically the main idea about the song was from him. Raisa’s first original song titled ‘Kashphul’ was released from Laser Vision a decade ago. The song was written by Rahul Mahfuz Joy and the tune was composed by Mahmud Sunny.
In this song, the three brothers of Lesser Vision, Arif, Mazharul and Bokul, were first impressed by the wonderful singing of Raisa’s very sweet voice.
After the release of the song, Raisa responded well. But despite having many dreams and hopes, Raisa removed herself from the world of music. Reluctance to release original songs comes to her. But who knows the meditation of music, she can stay away from music.
After completing LLB (Hon’s) from a private university, Raisa became focused on music again. She also returned to the
stage show.
Last May 25 was the birthday of the National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. On the occasion of this day, Raisa Jannat Khan released the song ‘Mor Ghum Ghore Ele Monohor’ on her Facebook page paying tribute to Kazi Nazrul Islam. As usual she is being appreciated for the sweetness of her voice.
Raisa’s voice is a wonderful voice. Her voice can be
a boon to our music industry
if properly utilised. Because of the lack of opportunities, many good voices do not come before us. Raisa herself is now
convinced about music.
Raisa told this correspondent, “Although I have to sing commercial songs in stage shows.
But the one whose songs have inspired me the most since childhood, the one whose songs I feel most comfortable in singing is with utmost respectable Lata Ji. I always love rendering her songs more. Along with the old days music that pulls me more. Since I don’t have more than one original song, maybe I could sing if I had. My voice is much fuller now than before. So even after the end of the song, my heart is full of music.”
Raisa is the first among the four daughters of Jahangir
Alam Khan and Halima Alam.
