Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Monday forecast rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind at many places over the country in 24 hours commencing at 9 am today.
“There is no heavy rainfall warning in the country. . . But rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy falls and isolated hails at some places over the country,” said a met office press release here.
Day and night temperature may fall by (1-2)oC over the country, the release said.
Sunday’s highest temperature was recorded 33.2 degrees Celsius at Patuakhali in Barishal division and Monday’s minimum temperature 17.8 degrees Celsius at Tetulia in Rangpur division.
Meanwhile, rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary westerly or northwesterly squalls speed 60-80 KPH is likely to occur over the regions of Rajshahi, Pabna, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Madaripur, Jashore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram and Sylhet wherein riverports shall hoist warning signal no two, the press release added. However, there is no marine warning and no signal to be hoisted in sea, it added.
