Railway demolishes 362 illegal establishments in Port City

Railway’s Estate department has crushed 362 illegal establishments
in the old depot area of the Port City. The drive was led by the Executive Magistrate and Railway Divisional Land Officer Mahbubul Karim
on Sunday.
It is learned that one acre of land was recovered from the area adjacent to the hill police outpost on the east of the railway.
During the drive, 362 illegal structures of Semipaka, pucca and tinshed were crushed. 1,050 illegal occupants were expelled.
Chattogram Assistant Agriculture Officer Mohammad Shahiduzzaman, Executive Magistrate of Chattogram District Administration Md Jamshed Alam Rana were also present.
Sujan Chowdhury, Chief Land Official of the Railway East, told the media that the raid from morning to afternoon was conducted from the area adjacent to the Pahartali police station on the east of the railway. Such a drive will continue to recover illegal occupied places of the railway.
