65-year-old Railway Minister Md. Nurul Islam Sujon has married 42-year-old Shammi Akhtar Moni. The wedding ceremony was held on June 5.

Shammi Akhtar is the daughter of late Abdur Rahim at Natunbazar under Birampur upazila in Dinajpur. Born on January 5, 1956, in Panchagarh, Nurul Islam, 65, was elected as a member of the 9th, 10th and 11th Jatiya Sangsad from Panchagarh-2 (Boda-Debiganj) constituency.
After being elected as a Member of Parliament for the third time in the 11th Parliamentary Election in 2018, he joined the Cabinet as the Minister of Railways.
Mujibul Haque was the Railway Minister in the last term of the ruling Awami League government. After becoming a minister, he got married.
