Rail link with Sylhet rsumes after 28hrs

After 29 hours of disruption, the rail links of Sylhet with others parts became normal early Saturday.
Sylhet Railway Station Manager Khalilur Rahman said the train movement on the route started at 5am after salvage operations. More than 200 staff of the railway were able to restore the rail communication after 29 hours of frantic efforts.
Bangladesh Railway formed a five-member probe body on Friday afternoon to investigate the reasons behind the derailment of a oil-laden train in Fenchuganj upazila that suspended rail communication between Sylhet and the rest of the country for 29 hours since.
Ten tankers, out of 21, of the oil-laden Sylhet-bound train from Chattogram veered off the tracks at Maizgaon around 12:30am on Friday. Around 800 metres rail lines was damaged following the accident.
At one stage, oil spilled on the ground from the tankers and soon spread the houses in the area. Some people collected the oil taking risk.
A Dhaka-bound inter-city train, Upaban Express, stuck in Kulaura and Udyan Express from Chattogram in Sreemangal from early Friday.
