Ghanaian forward Samuel Boateng slammed a double hat-trick as Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society thrashed Dhaka Wanderers Club by 6-1 goals to register their fifth win in the Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) football held at Shaheed Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj on Saturday.
Apart from Boateng double hat-trick with six goals in the match, Dhaka Wanderers forward Saif Shamsud scored a lone goal in the match.
Boateng scored double hat-trick with all the six goals in the 23rd, 37th, 44th, 63rd, 66th and 70th minutes while Saif scored a consolation goal for Dhaka Wanderers in the 50th minute of the match.
Rahmatganj completely dominated the entire proceeding and notched their deserving victory on the day while Wanderers were off-colored except the day’s lone goal in the match.
With the day’s emphatic victory, the traditional old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj moved to second position with 15 points from six matches while Dhaka Wanderers Club remained at their previous credit of four points playing the same number of outings.
Rahmatganj will play their next match against Mohammedan Sporting Club on January 10 while Dhaka Wanderers Club meet Brothers Union Club on the same day.
Rahmatganj earlier made winning start in the league beating Fortis Football Club by 3-1 goals, defeated Chittagong Abahani Limited by 2-0 goals, lost 4-1 defeat to Bashundhara Kings, notched 3-1 goals win over Brothers Union Club and thrashed Fakirerpool by 6-1 goals. While Dhaka Wanderers Club earlier suffered 6-0 defeat to Mohammedan in their league opening match, conceded 1-0 defeat to Abahani Limited Dhaka and suffered 4-0 defeat to Bangladesh Police Football Club in their third match of the league, played out to a 1-1 goal draw with Fortis Football Club and suffered 1-0 defeat to Dhaka Wanderers Club.
