The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has vowed to identify and arrest those involved in the brutal lynching of two brothers in Faridpur’s Madhukhali upazila. Arafat Islam, the newly appointed Director (legal and media wing) of RAB, made the announcement during a press conference at RAB media center on Sunday.
“RAB’s intelligence wing is working diligently on the case,” Islam asserted. “Those responsible for this heinous crime will be apprehended soon. We urge the public to refrain from spreading rumors and misinformation. RAB will ensure a thorough investigation brings the real criminals to justice.”
Faridpur’s Superintendent of Police (SP) Morshed Alam confirmed the arrest of 12 individuals in connection with the lynching. “The arrested have been sent to jail by the court,” SP Alam informed.
“For the sake of a robust investigation, details regarding the detainees cannot be disclosed at this time.”
The horrific lynching has sparked outrage, with various humanitarian and Islamic organisations issuing a 15-day ultimatum for the arrest of the perpetrators.
