In order to help some 284 jungle pirates of Sundrbans who already surrendered (to the Home Ministry) and to celebrate for the ensuing holy Eid-ul-Azha ceremony Eid gifts (like rice,edible oil, onions, sugar, Semai, milk, salt, almond, carminative seeds and and tasting like spices etc) and cash Taka were distributed among 284 surrendered Jungle pirates of Sundarbans at Mongla Port picnic corner on Tuesday (June-11) in the morning (at 10-30 am) ceremonially under Mongla Upazila in Bagerhat district by Lt. Cl. Kazi Jubayer Alam Shovon, Commander of RAB-8 of Barishal on behalf of the RAB-8. At that Major Md. Jahangr was present. The benefitted 284 jungle pirates belonged to 27 armed gangs of pirates. Out of them 173 hail from Bagerhat district: (Bazar area-30, Bhaga-81 and Mongla-62), 47 hail from Khulna district : (Khulna zero point-26,Tala Bazar-03, Chuknagar-01, Coira-14, Aranghata-02) and 62 hail from Stkhira district: (Munsiganj-54 and Sadarkot-07).
After surrendering many of the jungle pirates are living a normal life. On the other hand, some of them after being trained from the different training centers they are also engaged in the various technical works. Excepting those who committed serious offences like committing murder, rape etc the rest offenders who committed minor offences they will be considered with sympathy.
Many of the family members after getting the Eid gifts thanked these noble efforts.
