Director General (DG) of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Additional IGP AKM Shahidur Rahman said on Tuesday that the force has already taken special security measures at the risky puja mandaps across the country for peaceful celebrations of the Durga Puja.
“After reviewing all types of risks, special security measures have already been taken at risky puja mandaps for peaceful and festive celebrations of the Durga Puja,” he said while talking to journalists after visiting Rangpur city’s Karunamoyee Kalibari Temple, reports BSS.
The RAB chief said they are working for the overall success of the Durga Puja as the festival has now become a universal festival that helps to develop harmony and friendship among everyone, regardless of religion or caste. “We are working for the overall success of this largest religious event of the Hindu community,” he said.
There are a total of 4,670 puja mandaps under RAB-13 in Rangpur division, Rahman said, adding that RAB will be engaged in the security of all puja mandaps across the country.
