Quantum Foundation (QF), a voluntary blood donors organization, on Friday felicitated more than 200 voluntary blood donors who have donated blood 10 or 25 times in their lifetime.
The Foundation organized the programme at the Jatiya Press Club in the city. Vice- Chancellor (VC) of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Professor Dr Kamrul Hasan Khan attended the function as the chief guest.
Advisor of the Foundation and Chief of BSMMU’s Centre for Palliative Care Professor Dr Nizam Uddin Ahmad gave the welcome address at the function while Chief Coordinator of the foundation Madam Nahar Al-Bukhari was in the chair.
“The blood donation is important for saving life,” said BSMMU VC Dr Kamrul Hasan Khan.
The country has a demand of 6 lakh bags safe and healthy blood in a year.
Quantum Foundation has been working for raising awareness and carrying out voluntary blood donation programme since 1996 for fulfilling the huge demand.
