Pubali Bank PLC has donated an ambulance to Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) as a gesture of goodwill. The handover ceremony was held yesterday at 11am at the Birshreshtha Shaheed Mohammad Ruhul Amin Auditorium on the university campus.
NSTU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ismail attended the event as the chief patron, while Pubali Bank PLC’s Managing Director and CEO Mohammad Ali was present as the chief guest. In his speech, Prof Dr Ismail expressed his gratitude to Pubali Bank for the generous contribution. He also remembered the martyrs of the July Revolution and prayed for the quick recovery of those who were injured. “I extend my sincere thanks to the Pubali Bank authorities for this gift to the NSTU family. Since taking charge, I have been working to overcome various challenges step by step. We recently celebrated the university’s 19th founding anniversary on June 22. Alongside, we are focusing onadvancing education and research,” he said. He further added, “A university’s core objective is not just teaching but also creating knowledge. It is a place where we generate and exchange knowledge that can make significant contributions at home and abroad. However, we still face challenges in developing skilled manpower. If we fail to transfer the knowledge and skills we produce, limitations will remain. If we can take our research and publications from the lab to the market, we will be able to make practical use of our knowledge and expertise. I believe NSTU is on that path.” Prof Dr Mohammad Rezwanul Haque, Pro-Vice Chancellor of NSTU, Prof Dr Mohammad Hanif, Treasurer, and Shahnewaz Khan, Deputy Managing Director of Pubali Bank, also spoke at the event as special guests. The ceremony was chaired by Mohammad Hafizur Rahman Sardar, DGM and Head of Pubali Bank’s Noakhali region.
Among others, acting Registrar Mohammad Tamjid Hossain Chowdhury was present. Later, the foundation stone of Pubali Bank’s CRM booth was laid on the campus, along with a tree plantation programme. Pubali Bank also contributed Tk 1.3 lakh for the tree plantation initiative at NSTU.
