The involvement of leaders in the stone looting incident is a naked manifestation of the conspiracy to steal the character of Jamaat-e-Islami and its leaders. Conspiracies against Jamaat have been foiled in the past as well. This conspiracy will also be foiled. Sylhet district and metropolitan Jamaat leaders have commented that propaganda is being carried out against Jamaat leaders to hide the real criminals involved in stone looting. They also said that Jamaat has no connection with any injustice or misdeeds, stay away from stone looting.
Jamaat leaders made the above statement at an urgent press conference on Thursday (August 21) afternoon.
Jamaat-e-Islami Central Executive Committee member and Sylhet Metropolitan Ameer Muhammad Fakhrul Islam read out a written statement at a press conference held at the city’s Bandarbazar Kudrat Ullah Market, a joint initiative of the district and metropolitan Jamaat.
In his written statement, Metropolitan Ameer Md. Fakhrul Islam said that since its establishment, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, a caravan of people committed to building a humane society based on justice in the green land of Bangladesh, has been working for the welfare of humanity. The main goal of Jamaat is to achieve the satisfaction of Allah by working for the welfare of humanity. Jamaat has no connection with any injustice or misdeeds. Rather, Jamaat has always played a vocal role against all kinds of looting and wrongdoings. Recently, Jamaat has been playing a strong role against the looting of stones from various spots, including Sadapathar, one of the most popular tourist spots in Sylhet. It is sad but true that there is an attempt to tarnish the character of Jamaat leaders by linking them to the stone looting. Today’s press conference is to highlight Jamaat’s position on the stone looting. He congratulated everyone for coming with difficulty.
Muhammad Fakhrul Islam said, “We are observing with deep concern that recently a national daily, citing the ACC, intentionally linked my (Sylhet Metropolitan Ameer Muhammad Fakhrul Islam) and District Secretary Md. Joynal Abedin’s names with the white stone looting. We express our angry reaction and condemn the copy-pasted publication of the fictional report of that daily in various local and national online newspapers. Keep away from Jamaat leaders, no ordinary worker or supporter has the slightest connection with the stone looting.” Jamaat leaders also spoke at a program of Sylhet transport owners, workers and businessmen demanding the opening of stone quarries under government management and through legal means. It is sad but true that misleading reports and propaganda are being published about the statements of the political leaders who spoke in that human chain. However, that statement has no relation to stone looting. In the meantime, Sylhet Jamaat has issued a statement protesting against the propaganda centered around this statement. Which has been published in various national and local media. In that statement, it has been called upon to identify and arrest those involved in the looting and give exemplary punishment and to the people of Sylhet and the country not to be misled by the propaganda. In addition, statements have been issued by Sylhet District and Metropolitan Jamaat protesting against that false report.
In a written statement, Metropolitan Jamaat Ameer said, I and District Jamaat Secretary Joynal Abedin have been intentionally implicated in a daily news report published quoting the ACC. No media outlet has found any truth in the ACC report that Jamaat leaders are named, only that newspaper has. Earlier, several investigative reports have been published in various media outlets citing intelligence reports and regarding stone looters. No names of Jamaat leaders or activists were found anywhere in these reports. We are surprised by the fact that Jamaat leaders were named in that formal report of a daily. We believe that this is an attempt to hide the real accused involved in stone theft and is part of a deep conspiracy. We strongly condemn and protest against such fictional fake news. We strongly demand to refrain from such propaganda. We strongly demand the government to identify the real accused involved in stone looting through an impartial investigation and bring them to justice. At the same time, he humbly requested the concerned authorities to keep an active vigil so that no innocent and innocent person is subjected to unnecessary harassment.
Muhammad Fakhrul Islam said, “We are not yet sure whether the ACC has given any such report. However, we have not found any existence of the list that Samakal reported on in the ACC. We think this is completely misleading. Besides, if the ACC has mentioned the names of Jamaat leaders in their report, then the ACC must provide proof of this. Otherwise, the ACC and the media outlets that published fictitious and fake reports must apologize to the nation for the propaganda. Jamaat will not give up a single point in this regard. Many conspiracies have been hatched and propaganda has been carried out against Jamaat in the past due to its failure to confront it ideologically. History has witnessed all the conspiracies that have been foiled. This time too, the conspiracy being hatched against Jamaat by looting stones will fail. InshaAllah. The media has always played a strong role as a mirror of the nation in revealing the real truth. We are hopeful that this time too, it will play a responsible role in uncovering the real truth in this stone case.
