Prokriti O Jibon Foundation started its journey with a documentary series titled Prokriti O Jibon. The ninth edition of Prokriti Mela organised on the premises of Channel i office in the capital’s Tejgaon area recently.
There were various programmes throughout the day on the initiative of the Prokriti O Jibon Foundation including music performance, character shows, watercolour painting, Gambhira, Kabigaan, puppet show and dancing, mime show, photography exhibition, dance performances, etc.
Reputed environmentalists, researchers, naturalists and dignitaries of the country were present at the fair to call for the protection of nature.
Various institutions, nurseries, handicrafts and cottage industries participated in the fair with nature-related equipments.
There were various species of marine fish stalls, pitha stalls and other eco-friendly stalls. Famous artists of the country drew pictures of trees, shrubs, flowers and birds on one side of the fair. On the other hand, there were also different landscape drawings painted by the children.
The Prokriti Mela 2020 started at 10:00am and ended at 4:00pm. Channel i broadcasted ‘Prokriti Mela’ live.
An event was also held at 6:00pm on that to present the ‘Nature Conservation Medal.’ Valerie A Taylor received the medal this year.
In addition to the Nature Conservation Medal, the Environment City of the Year award was also presented as well. This time, Rajshahi City Corporation received the award.
