‘Prokriti Mela 2015’ on Jan 31

To create public awareness on various elements of environment and nature of Bangladesh, Fresh-Channel i Prokriti Mela 2015 is going to take place on Channel i premises on January 31.
The day-long (from 11:00am to 5:00pm) fair will entail around 20 stalls, nature related songs, dance, poetry recitation, puppet show, tree plantation, drawing competition, mime, gambhira, jatra pala, photo exhibition, free WiFi zone and so on.
Renowned environmentalists, intellectuals, nature lovers, media personalities, artists, singers, writers, journalists, foreign delegates are expected to be present on the occasion.
The whole festival will be telecasted live on Channel i.
This was announced at a press conference held at the Channel i Head Office in the city’s Tejgaon area on Thursday.
Muqeed Majumdar Babu, Chairman of Prokriti O Jibon Foundation and Director of Impress Telefilm Ltd/Channel i; Faridur Reza Sagar, Managing Director of Impress Telefilm Ltd/Channel i; Asif lqbal, ED-Marketing of Meghna Group of Industries; Md Shajahan Siraj (Jewel), Managing Director of Noor Eco Bricks Ltd; M Anwarul Azim, Director, Media & International Business of Runner Automobiles Ltd; noted media personality Ali Imam and prominent environmentalists of the country were also present in the conference.
Later to mark the occasion, a colourful rally was also organised.
According to the participants, throughout the world, various manmade causes are pushing the nature towards endangerment.
This problem is more intense in highly populated countries like Bangladesh. Most of the lushness of Bangladesh has now been faded away. Human life is now endangered along with country’s wetlands, floras and faunas.
Nature conservation initiatives are must to overcome the situation.
This unique Prokriti Mela (nature fair) is being organised to build awareness and encourage people for nature conservation. n
