Canadian academic and international business education leader Professor Daniel W. Lund joined Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) as the Pro Vice Chancellor on April 13, 2025.
Before joining IUB, he served as the Founding Dean of Graduate Programs and Executive Education at British Management University in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Over his career, he has held several senior academic leadership positions across universities in Asia, the Middle East, and the South Pacific.
He is currently completing an EdD from Johns Hopkins University with a focus on Entrepreneurial Leadership in Education.
He holds a PhD from Griffith University, Australia, specializing in Higher Education Organisational Effectiveness and the Management of Diversity; an MBA from York University’s Schulich School of Business, Canada; and a BA in Philosophy and English Literature from the University of Victoria, Canada.
He also completed specialized teaching and leadership training with Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, Harvard Business School, and MIT’s Sloan School of Management.
Dr. Lund’s research interests span leadership in higher education, cross-cultural management, expatriate adjustment, and strategic human resource management.
He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, authored book chapters, and delivered keynote speeches at international conferences.
He is also an International Faculty Fellow with the MIT Sloan School of Management and a member of the Academy of Management.
