Country’s both the bourses– Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – on Thursday plunged due to mainly price fall in large-cap securities.
DSEX, the broad index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, shed 6.5 points or 0.1% to settle at 5,247 points, as against 5,254 points in the previous trading session, reports BSS.
Market analysts observed despite the majority of scrips closing in green, investors’ buying interest fell short of keeping market indices to the positive territory.
Meanwhile, market turnover slightly increased by 5.3% to Taka 4.9 billion as against Taka 4.6 billion in the previous session.
On the sectoral front, Textile (14.3%) issues exerted the highest turnover, followed by Pharma (13.4%) and Bank (11.8%) sectors.
