Chitalmari (Bagerhat) Correspondent :
A prayer and discussion meeting was observed on the occasion of the 89th birth anniversary of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, the herald of great freedom, advocate of multi-party democracy at Chitalmari in Bagerhat.
The programme was organised by Chitalmari Upazila Svechsevak Dal on the temporary office in Shaheed Minar premises. Upazila Svechsevak Dal Convenor Md. Niamat Ali Khan presided over the meeting while the Convener of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Party (BNP) Chitalmari upazila branch Md. Mominul Haque Tulu Biswas was present as the chief guest and Member Secretary Ahsan Habib Thandu spoke as the main speaker at the meeting.
Bangladesh Jatiyatavadi Jubo Dal Chitalmari Upazila Branch Member Secretary Sheikh Asaduzzaman, Chitalmari Upazila Branch Volunteer Party Member Secretary Kashinath Bairagi, Upazila Sramik Dal President Md Yusuf Ali Sheikh, Upazila Krishak Dal President Md Shahid Sheikh, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal Sher-e-Bangla Degree College Branch also spoke among others. Among others, Upazila BNP Senior Joint Convenor Soeb Hossain Gazi, Joint Convener Shipon Munshi, Upazila Sramik Dal General Secretary Md.
Raju Khan and all the leaders and activists of the affiliated organizations were also present in the meeting. Mominul Haque Tulu Biswas, Convener of Chitalmari Upazila BNP conducted the doa mahfil. They prayed for the salvation of martyred President Ziaur Rahman’s departed soul. The program was conducted by Kashinath Bairagi.
