Sylhet administration has taken foolfroof security measures to ensure a peaceful celebration of the upcoming autumn Durgapuja.
A detailed discussion on this issue was held at the security coordination meeting at the conference room of the Sylhet District Police Office on Saturday.
The speakers at the meeting said that Sylhet is a city of harmony. People of all religions and communities have been living together here.
Political parties, administration, law enforcement agencies, civil society and the Puja Udjawan Parishad, including all concerned, will have to work together to complete the Durgotsav smoothly and peacefully.
It was informed at the meeting that special vigil will be maintained in every upazila so that followers of traditional religions can celebrate the religious festival in an environment of maximum security.
