The upazila administration has completed all preparations for the upcoming Sharadiya Durga Puja celebration peacefully at a total of 215 puja mandap in Kulaura Upazila of Moulvibazar. On Monday, the upazila administration organised a Durga Puja at the Zilla Parishad Auditorium.
A meeting was held to discuss the final preparations for the Puja celebration with the participation of the Army, Police, BGB, Fire Service, Electricity Department, public representatives, BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, NCP, members of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Puja Celebration Front and journalists.
Meanwhile, the police administration has held a meeting with the leaders of the Puja Celebration Front, Puja Committees, and political leaders to ensure the peaceful celebration of the Puja.
The administration has taken steps to ensure that the Puja is celebrated without any disruption.
Extensive initiatives have been taken in coordination with all departments.
The meeting, chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Mohiuddin and moderated by Assistant Professor Mazharul Islam of Langla Modern Degree College.
It was also addressed by former MP Nawab Ali Abbas Khan, Captain Misbahul Islam of the Army’s Baralekha Camp, Upazila BNP President Joynal Abedin Bachchu, General Secretary Badruzzaman Sajal, Upazila Jamaat Amir Assistant Professor Abdul Muntazim, Nayeb-e-Amir Md. Zakir Hussain, former principal Soumya Pradeep Bhattacharya Sajal, former assistant professor Dr. Rajat Kanti Bhattacharya, Kulaura Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Shamim Akonji, senior journalist Sushil Sengupta, UP Chairman Azizur Rahman Monir, former president of the Journalists Association Moktadir Hossain, Former leader of the Puja Udjavan Parishad Nirmalya Mitra Suman, convener of the Upazila Puja Udjavan Front Bidhan Deb, member secretary Gaurang De, district NCP leader Lincoln Talukder, leader of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Shamim Ahmed, member of the Moulvibazar Warriors of July.
Secretary Zahidul Islam and others were present at the event. Assistant Commissioner (Land) Anisul Islam, senior journalist Shakil Rashid Chowdhury, President of Press Club Kulaura Azizul Islam, Senior Vice President Moinul Haque Paban, General Secretary of Upazila Press Club Najmul Bari Suhel, was present at the event.
Upazila NCP leader Ibrahim Mahmud and leaders of political, social, cultural and professional organizations The speakers at the meeting said that Durga Puja will be completed peacefully with the cooperation of everyone while maintaining religious harmony.
Former MP Nawab Ali Abbas Khan assured full cooperation with the administration.
UNO Md. Mohiuddin said in his speech that a meeting was held at the union level to ensure a smooth and peaceful Durga Puja. Along with the police, security personnel were deployed in Kulaura.
There will also be an army camp. All the puja mandap will be brought under CCTV cameras. All kinds of preparations have already been made by the administration.
