Police have recovered the costly smart phone snatched from Farhan Abir more than two months ago.
On the evening of July 22, two bike-borne robbers looted the phone from him on the road opposite the Rajuk Bhaban in the capital when he was on way back to home by a rickshaw.
The catch the snatchers, Abir started chasing the motorbike from running behind it. But he fell on the road and sustained injuries on his hands and head.
Later, he lodged a complaint with the capital’s Paltan Police Station, who traced the phone after extensive surveillance.
Abul Hossain, Assistant Commissioner (AC) Paltan of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, handed over the snatched mobile phone to Abir on Tuesday after recovering it from Chattogram.
Police had put a large number of lost phones on surveillance and recovered them that were found to be in use. Police contacted the people using the lost phones and asked them to return the phones.
