The police are not the enemy of the people, but the enemy of extortionists and terrorists, said DMP’s Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit (CTTC) chief Md. Masud Karim.
He said this as the chief guest at a meeting organized by the police, students, public and citizens of Paltan police station area in Nayapaltan on Saturday.
The CTTC chief said that the police are always ready to provide the legal services desired by the people. There is no alternative to the cooperation of the people to ensure this police service.
We have high expectations from you (citizens). You have to be by our side so that we can work according to your expectations. You should go to the police station without fear. If you face any problem while going to the police station to file a case or GD, then inform the OC or DC of the police station, they will take action.
He also said that the DMP Commissioner has already instructed the OCs of all police stations to take reasonable cases or GDs.
Masud Karim further said, “We have got a new Bangladesh through the uprising of the students and the public. We have got the opportunity to organize the country in a new way.
If there is any mistake in the police’s activities, you will expose us. The police are not the opponents of the people, but the police are the opponents of extortionist terrorists.”
