A group of protesters vandalised police box at Itterfaq intersection in Motijheel on Sunday.
The incident took place following a series of chase and counter-chase between the protesters and members of the Chhatra League and Jubo League took place at Motijheel.
The protesters chased away Awami League leaders and activists in the area around 3 pm.
During this time, Awami League leaders and activists were chanting slogans. However, they were chased away by the procession coming from Old Dhaka and headed to Shabagh.
Awami League leaders and workers responded by throwing bricks.
They block the road and staged a massive rally, where they continued their demonstration and set fire to another police box.
