The Queen mourns and sheds tears for the King
Nawab Faizunnessa Choudhurani

Oh Lord, what makes you so cruel-hearted! Why sorrow follows sorrow?
What’s that great sin I have committed?
Oh Lord, what makes me, without any reason, disappointed?
I have already lost my soul earlier.
Oh Lord, when you took away my spouse,
Since my life came to dead end;
Alas Oh Lord! Why do you keep me alive on earth empty handed?
Alas! Oh Lord! You took away my spouse and made me a widow
and I became here bare-bodied!
Oh my Lord! I cry out looking at the deserted bed at every time!
What makes this rubbish in my fate?
Oh Lord! What’ll happen to this young lady? There’s nothing left for her.
What’s sin that made you angry with me?
Oh my Lord! What injustice inflicted punishment on me again and again?
And again you put my son in your wrath in the same decree!
Oh Lord! What makes you put me in sorrow twice but again
and again like the heartless one?
Oh Lord! Exonerate this sinful woman and let her son come round again.
Faizun said thus, “Oh Lord! Let this life’s spirit and freshness regain.”
