PM urges N Korea to boost trade with Bangladesh

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Tuesday called upon the North Korean government to boost trade with Bangladesh and import pharmaceutical, ceramic and garment products.
“North Korea can import world class Bangladeshi products such as pharmaceuticals, ceramics and readymade garments,” she said.
The Prime Minister came up with the request when newly appointed North Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh Ri Song Hyon called on her at her office here this morning.
After the meeting, PM’s Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad briefed reporters.
He said Sheikh Hasina underscored the need for diversifying joint cooperation in the fields of agriculture, mining and water resources management.
The Prime Minister thanked the North Korean government for congratulating the new government of Bangladesh.
Ambassador-At- Large M Ziauddin, PM’s Principal Secretary Shaikh Md Wahid-Uz-Zaman, PMO Secretary Md Abul Kalam Azad and Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad were present.
