Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his mazar here.
After placing the wreath, the Prime Minister stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of respect to the memory of the architect of the independence.
A special prayer was offered seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu, Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib and other martyrs of August 15, 1975 massacre.
Prayers were also offered seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of the martyrs of the War of Liberation as well as the country’s continued peace, progress and prosperity.
Sheikh Rehana, younger daughter of Bangabandhu, and other family members of the Prime Minister were present.
PM’s Media Advisor Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, Faruk Khan, MP, Sheikh Helal Uddin, MP, Advocate Umme Razia Kajal, MP and AL’s Religious Affairs Secretary Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah were present, among others.
