Popular singer and actress Xefer Rahman is always in the news for her unconventional songs and eye-catching fashion statements.
In a recent video message, she talked about the behind-the-scenes work of her songs and her experience as a female artiste.
At the same time, she requested her fans to give more support to female artistes.
In her video message, Xefer lamented to her fans, saying, “I have been with music for many years now.
Many people think that I might be beautifully prepared and sing on stage or in videos.
I mean, what else is a vocalist, which is completely fine. Because in reality, we humans don’t show ourselves how much work we do behind the scenes. So, you don’t know, this is also normal.”
In Xefer’s words, “I don’t just sing in the real sense, I actually do a lot of things.
From composing songs to making songs, producing songs, sitting down with lyrics, pre-planning it, what the music video will be like or where the song will go, all of this planning and every visualisation.”
Xefer said, “Many of you don’t know that I’m not just a vocalist; I actually write songs, compose songs. 90 per cent of my songs are composed by me.
I mean, I compose myself, sing myself, and I was involved in the lyrics, what else is called co-writing.”
Demanding increased support for female artistes, she said, “I would say that please support artistes a little, especially female artistes a little.
We have to break many barriers socially and work. Then when we feel many kinds of boundaries, then we become very demotivated.”
