Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said the plan to operate the boats on rescued canal after the completion of the five projects in the Port City to reduce waterlogging.
He told reporters after visiting the Rajakhali Canal-2 from the Kalploka residential area last Tuesday.
The Mayor said, “The CDA, the CDA and the Water Development Board are implementing a total of four projects.
When the project is completed to protect the rescued canals, I plan to launch a boat there.
Because when the project is completed, the canals will be defended big challenges.
For this reason, boats and speedboats will be launched in all the canals recovered, including the Baripara canal to create entertainment fields in the canals.
When people do not see dirt in the canal but find the source of entertainment in the transparent waterfall, people will not put dirt anymore.”
“If these projects are implemented and conducting proper maintenance and routine work, Chittagong will reduce waterlogging.
Besides, under these projects, the city’s communication capacity will increase due to roads and culverts constructed in the canal,” he also said.
Commenting on the benefits of the projects, the waste management will be increased, the Mayor said, “We will also build dirt in the project areas so that the people of the canal do not leave the waste and fill the canal with dirt.
The border schedule will be installed to protect the land rescued in the project area because the protection of these canals is associated with the existence of Karnaphuli and Chattogram.”
Panel Mayor Ghias Uddin Chowdhury, Councilor Abdus Salam Masum, Chief Clean Officer Commander Latiful Haque Kazmi, Deputy Headquarters Morshedul Alam, Mosque and Malaria Control Officer Sharful Islam Mahi were also present on the occasion.
