Entertainment Report :

Bangladesh Film Directors’ Association has decided to boycott actor Pirzada Shahidul Harun for making bad comments about BFDC and producers.

Besides, the leaders of various organisations of the film industry gave him an ultimatum by holding a press conference recently.

Apology must be sought within three days; otherwise legal action will be taken against him in
addition to disqualification.

In a recent interview, Pirzada Harun said, “At one time, late actor Rajib was removed from the BFDC and the additional secretary was given the responsibility.

He was not aware of the BFDC and entrusted me with the responsibility of taking care of it. Then I see, there were 120 rooms with the names of different producers. There were many things including women, drug trade.

I informed the liquor and freed the rooms. Now those rooms
have been occupied again. These need to be stopped.”

Bangladesh Film Directors’ Association decided to boycott Pirzada Harun last Saturday due
to such statements. Film-related organisations held a press conference on Sunday
protesting this matter.

In the press conference, Secretary General of Bangladesh Film Directors’ Association Shahin Shumon said, “So many people can work because the producers are investing in the movie. If those producers are said to be intoxicated in BFDC, have sex with women – it is reprehensible and shameful.

If we don’t protest against these words today, our image will be ruined for the whole country.”
Vice President of Film Artistes’ Association DA Tayeb said, “I was very saddened to hear about Pirzada Harun. He said he deserves to be punished.” President of Film Club and producer Shamsul Alam said, “40 years career that I have never seen here will be 120 rooms for producers.

I will request him; he will give the proof of his words when he comes to BFDC. He raised questions about the film related organisations. If he does not come and apologize publicly to everyone within the next three days, he will be declared uninvited in the BFDC. He will be sued for defamation.”

Regarding the boycott and ultimatum of Film Directors’ Association, Pirzada Harun said that he is not worried about boycotts and unwanted issues.

Pirzada Harun said, “I did not tell any lies. It will be clear if you see the file of that time. Besides,
the news of drinking and cheering during the election of Film Artistes’ Association has been published in the media. I didn’t say everyone is involved with it.

For the sake of the film, I said, BFDC needs to be freed from all these activities.

I am not thinking about boycott anymore, because last July I decided not to work in films.”
Explaining the reason behind his decision not to act, Pirzada Harun said, “Now there are no movies, gangs and filth. The glory of the golden days of cinema is no more. We wasted it. Due to these reasons, I am not acting in the movie
from July 1.”
