PIB’s second phase of training held to enhance the professional development

Addressing journalists during a three-day (September 9-11, 2025) conference organized by the Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB), he said, “The media is the fourth pillar of democracy and the state. You have to deliver true and impartial news to the nation through your pen and camera. At the same time, the new generation of journalists must become proficient in digital skills.”
The program was chaired by PIB Director General Farooq Wasif. 27 journalists from different districts participated in the training. All of them were physically injured and mentally damaged while performing their professional duties during the mass uprising.
Mahbuba Farzana, Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, was the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the training. PIB Director General Farooq Wasif presided over the event.
The workshop conducted special sessions on digital journalism, use of necessary apps and tools, audio recording with microphones and headphones, video shooting and editing, journalistic ethics, and dealing with trauma.
The trainers were Dr. Jamil Khan, Associate Professor of Daffodil International University, Nazia Afrin Monami, Adjunct Faculty of University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh, Shafat Rahman, Communication Specialist of BRAC, Ridwan Islam, Factchecker Factwatch, Golam Morshed, Senior Research Officer of PIB, and Mohammad Shah Alam, Trainer.
