Photo story exhibition based on Tagore’s ‘Shesher Kobita’ released

Kolkata’s popular actor Parambrata Chatterjee attended a photo story exhibition inspired by the renowned poetic novel ‘Shesher Kobita’ by Rabindranath Tagore at the National Art Gallery Auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Friday evening, said a press release.
This exhibition, illustrating stories through photos, features a stellar cast including acclaimed West Bengal actor Parambrata Chatterjee and Dr Shreya Sen from Bangladesh.
The project features a combination of poetry recitation and photoshoot with Dr Shreya Sen herself reciting select verses from the novel. The photographs, taken by Fouzia Jahan of ‘Boner Dighi Studio,’ capture the essence of the characters and their relationships.
To bring this distinctive research work to the public, an exhibition followed by a book launch was organised on the same day to promote awareness among the younger generation.
This project has been funded by a grant from the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and supported by City Bank.
Social Welfare Minister Dr Dipu Moni attended the ceremony as the chief guest. Presided over by eminent actor and Dhaka-10 MP Ferdous Ahmed, Aroma Dutta, MP and Bangladesh Awami League Health and Population Subcommittee member, Dr Ashish Kumar Chakraborty were present as special guests.
Parambrata expressed his connection to Bangladesh and said, “My relationship with Bangladesh is not professional but rather familial. My aunt is a citizen here, so I have a long-standing connection with Bangladesh. I have come here before to act in films. This time, however, the project is a completely new experience. It is a photo story, telling the story through images. I applaud Fouzia and Sreya for their innovative concept. Although various art forms have been explored before, this is the first I have worked on such aesthetic work as photo story. Hope everyone will like it.”
Dr Shreya Sen shared her feelings on the project by this way, “Although I am a doctor by profession, I am also involved in poetry recitation and translation. It had been a long-time dream of mine to work on ‘Shesher Kobita,’ and it finally came true.”
