prizes were distributed among 36 meritorious students of at Pirganj Upazila under Thakurgaon district. The `Performance Based Grants for Secondary Institutions Scheme, SEDP’ of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
The prize distribution was held on Wednesday at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium jointly organized by the Pirganj Upazila Secondary Education Office and the Thakurgaon District Education Office. Earlier, 10 thousand taka was given to each of the selected secondary level students and 25 thousand taka to each of the meritorious students of the higher secondary level under the scheme.
The award distribution meeting, chaired by Upazila Executive Officer Rakibul Hasan and moderated by Lohagara Girls High School Principal Khalequzzaman, was attended by Pirganj Government College Principal Professor Badrul Huda, District Education Officer Shahin Akter, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Arifullah, Pirganj Press Club President Joynal Abedin Babul, students Farhadul Kabir Fahim and Arnika Tabasum, among others. At the end of the meeting, certificates and crests were distributed among the meritorious students. At that time, the principals, head teachers, committee presidents, students and guardians of the relevant secondary and higher secondary educational institutions of the upazila were present.
