The Payra 1,320MW Thermal Power Plant in Patuakhali is now supplying its full capacity of 1,320MW to the national grid from both units.
After almost two months, the plant’s second unit resumed electricity production at 9:30 pm on Monday, following maintenance work. Shah Moni Ziko, assistant manager (Investigation) of the power plant, confirmed the information.
With both units operational, the power plant is now contributing its full capacity of 1,320MW to the national grid.After nearly two months, the second unit of the Payra 1,320MW Thermal Power Plant in Patuakhali has resumed electricity production.
Following maintenance work, the unit began generating power at 9:30pm on Monday, according to the authorities.
Shah Moni Ziko said, “The second unit, which had been shut down for maintenance since November 9 last year, resumed operation at 9:30 pm on Monday. Moreover, the first unit, previously halted under the directive of the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB), restarted production on December 30.”
With both units operational, the power plant is now contributing its full capacity of 1,320MW to the national grid.
