NN Online:

The interim government has revoked the passports of 75 people, including former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, for their alleged involvement in the July massacre.

Chief Adviser’s Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumder on Monday made these remarks during a media briefing at the Foreign Service Academy.

The Department of Immigration and Passports also cancelled passports of another 20 people who are allegedly involved in enforced disappearances. The press wing, however, did not mention the names.

The deputy press secretary, in response to questions from the media, clarified that the Indian government is aware of the issue, which led to the issuance of travel documents. The Passport Department has confirmed to them that the passports of 75 individuals have been cancelled, though specific details on who these individuals are remain unavailable.

He also emphasised that holding multiple passports is illegal, and in cases of passport cancellation, it is the diplomatic passport that has been revoked.
