Both pass rate, GPA-5, numbers of cent percent passed institutions decreased and girls and science group done better in Higher Secondary Examination 2023 result of Barishal Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board.
Cent percent examinees passed HSC from 34 colleges which was 56 in last year.
However, even though the board officials said that they are satisfied with the results.
The pass rate decreased to 86.95 percent from 95.76 of last year while number of GPA-5 holders decreased to 7386 which 9971 in last year.
On Wednesday afternoon, Barishal Board Controller of Examinations Arun Kumar Gain announced the results expressed his satisfaction.
He said, this time there is no zero pass in any college and cent percent examinees passed from 34 colleges which was 56 in last year.
Like previous years the comparative results of the candidates in English subject have become worse.
Arun Kumar said, 53 ,807 passed out of 61,885 appeared candidates from 331 colleges at 125 centers.
Among the passed students 25,588 were boys and 28, 219 were girls. Among the 7,386 GPA-5 holders 2 thousand 580 were boys and 5 thousand 806 were girls.
Candidates from 331 colleges participated in the examination at 125 centers and 20 candidates including 7 from science department, 12 from humanities and 1 from business education were expelled during the examination.
Out of 12072 appeared candidates of science and home economics group 10861( 89.97 percent) passed, while out of 40311 appeared examinees of humanities and Islamic Studies group 34 thousand 673 (86.01 percent) passed and out of 9502 candidates of business studies group 8273 (89.95 percent) passed.
The BEB controller of examination said that Bhola district securing 92.09 percent pass rate reached on top of the list at the district wise rate of pass in Barishal division.
Barishal district with 91.12 percent, Jhalokathi district with 88.25 percent, Pirojpur with 88.18 percent, Barguna district with 87.83 percent, Patuakhali with 73.75 percent were on the district-wise position HSC result under BEB.
However Barishal district advanced by getting 2297 GPA-5 while Bhola district got 653, Pirojpur district 547, Barguna district 527, Patuakhali district 484 and Jhalakathi district got 298 GPA-5 in HSC 2023, BEB sources added.
